Dr. Rachel Youngblood is a San Antonio native who discovered her passion for veterinary medicine and horses early in life, inspired by her mother, a small-animal veterinarian. She grew up actively involved in the show circuit, competing with Arabian performance horses and hunter-jumpers—experiences that helped shape her dedication to equine care.
Dr. Youngblood earned her undergraduate degree from Baylor University before completing her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree at the Texas A&M College of Veterinary Medicine in 2020. Following graduation, she completed a one-year internship at Brazos Valley Equine Hospitals in Salado. She continued her career at Salado Equine Medical Center (formerly Brazos Valley Equine Hospitals), where she continues to serve the equine community. Outside the clinic, Rachel enjoys spending time with her family, riding her horses, and relaxing with her cats, Annie and Marilyn.
